The Shrewsbury Big Town Plan Partnership has announced the Shrewsbury Moves Festival, running from 20th-23rd March. This four-day celebration focuses on the future of movement in and around Shrewsbury Town Square, combining conference sessions with outdoor displays and activities.
The festival begins with "Talking Movement" (20th-21st March), featuring an evening discussion at Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery with Peter Walker, author and Guardian deputy political editor, alongside mobility experts and Julia Buckley MP.
Day two offers interactive sessions at Shrewsbury Business Suite exploring travel, community engagement and urban design.
The "Celebrating Movement" portion (21st-23rd March) includes a sustainable transport showcase, followed by a Saturday extravaganza of walking, wheeling, running, cycling, dancing and al fresco dining.
The festival concludes on Sunday with a family fun day featuring a special transformation of the Town Square. Most outdoor activities require no booking.
PHOTO OF THE WEEK 📸
This week's featured photos showcase the Sabrina boat on its first day back after its winter maintenance break, including a successful boat lift.
I captured these images of the English Bridge as the boat turned around and Kingsland Bridge on the return journey. The vessel was busy with visitors enjoying the scenic river tour.

The Sabrina offers 45-minute trips along the River Severn with knowledgeable tour hosts providing commentary throughout the journey. Several special events are planned for the coming weeks - booking is recommended to secure your place on this popular Shrewsbury attraction.
Submit your photo of Shrewsbury to @ShrewsburyScoop on Instagram or Facebook to be featured next time.
