SPORTS DIGEST 🏆

Shrewsbury Town Football Club

Town Take Point at Home But Fall at Exeter

Shrewsbury Town shared the spoils in a goalless draw with Bristol Rovers at the Croud Meadow on Tuesday. David Wheeler came closest for Town before the break when put through by Josh Feeney, but Rovers keeper Jed Ward made a crucial save. Substitute Callum Stewart nearly won it late on, hitting the post from close range.

Saturday's trip to Exeter City ended in disappointment as Shrewsbury fell to a 2-0 defeat. Despite Jamal Blackman saving Josh Magennis' penalty after Feeney's foul, Caleb Watts scored from the resulting corner in the 27th minute. Demetri Mitchell doubled Exeter's lead with a fine volley shortly after half-time. Luca Hoole offered Town's best efforts in both matches but couldn't find the target.

Gareth Ainsworth's side now face a crucial period in their battle to maintain League One status, with defensive organisation showing promise but goals remaining hard to come by. The team will need to find their scoring touch quickly as the relegation battle intensifies.
