Little Stars Launch Bedtime Essentials Campaign 🌙
Children’s charity Little Stars is running “Wear Stars 4 Little Stars Week” from 22–30 June to support Project Night-time, which provides bedtime basics like mattresses and pyjamas to families in need.
The week features themed fundraisers including a Forest Day, quiz night, and Paint & Sip event. Schools and workplaces are encouraged to take part in a pyjama day on 27 June. Founder and CEO Leanne Simcoe says, “Project Night-time ensures we can continue to provide these essential bedtime items that every child deserves.”

John Lennon Tribute Show Coming to Theatre Severn 🎸
Theatre Severn will host Something About Lennon – The John Lennon Story on Friday, 20 June, as part of a 26-venue UK tour. This intimate stage show, led by actor-musician Daniel Taylor, explores Lennon’s complex post-Beatles years through storytelling and live music.
With tracks like Imagine and Woman performed alongside select Beatles hits, the show goes beyond tribute, offering a raw, human portrait of Lennon’s later life. Taylor, no stranger to the role, calls the production a celebration of “someone as unique and timeless as John Lennon.”

Shropshire Visual Arts Network Unveils 'Spectacular Shropshire' Exhibition 🎨
Running until 21st June, the new themed showcase by Shropshire Visual Arts Network celebrates local creativity at their gallery on the Middle Level of Darwin Shopping Centre, Shrewsbury.

Shropshire Consultant Helps Community Get Healthier 💬
Vicky, a Slimming World consultant for Harlescott and Greenfields, is helping promote healthy living to locals through friendly, supportive groups.

Beaconsfield Club Brings Community Together 🎶
Shrewsbury’s Beaconsfield Club have a packed schedule of bingo, karaoke, tea dances and live music. The club offers a warm, affordable social scene for residents.
Popular events this May include a live set from Chris Higgins (17 May) and a 50s/60s disco afternoon (29 May).

Shrewsbury Town FC: Player Departures Post-Relegation
Following relegation, Shrewsbury Town have released eight players, including key names Jordan Shipley, Aaron Pierre, and Jamal Blackman.
Shipley departs after three seasons and 12 goals in 111 league appearances. Pierre ends his second spell with the club after rejoining in late 2023, while Blackman exits after stepping in as first-choice goalkeeper for the final 27 matches of the season.
Shrewsbury Town Women: League Cup Champions
Shrewsbury Town Women claimed a dominant 4-0 victory over Leek Town in the League Cup Final on May 11th, securing silverware in style and marking a historic moment for the team.
