The community spirit was in full swing at yesterday's Happier Festival, bringing together locals for wellness workshops and delicious food. See how it unfolded:
Meadowsweet Supper Club Returns This August
Local foodies won't want to miss the next Meadowsweet Supper Club experience coming up this August.
Free Weekly Walking Group Supports Men's Mental Health
A local men's mental health group meets every Wednesday at 7pm, offering a safe space for men over 18 to discuss mental health while taking a gentle 2-mile walk through town.
The group gathers at the entrance to the quarry opposite St Chad's Church, with routes adapted for weather and participants' abilities. No registration is required and attendance is completely free.
Led by Andy, someone who found talking crucial to overcoming his own mental health challenges during and after military service, the group aims to break down the stigma around men discussing their problems.
The walking format provides a relaxed, supportive environment where participants can share as much or as little as they feel comfortable with.

Shrewsbury Town Football Club ⚽
Shrewsbury make new signing and loan move
Shrewsbury Town have signed 19-year-old goalkeeper Elyh Harrison on a season-long loan from Manchester United.
The England U20 international impressed during a stint at Chester last season, and Town’s director of football Micky Moore believes the youngster has the talent and mentality to thrive at League Two level.
Former Portsmouth winger Anthony Scully has joined Shrewsbury on a one-year deal. The 26-year-old links back up with head coach Michael Appleton, under whom he thrived at Lincoln City.
After limited chances at Wigan and Pompey, Scully is looking for a fresh start to recapture his best form.
