Local independent toy shop The Toy Box has moved to 45 High Street after outgrowing their Wyle Cop location.
Founded by Vonny with a mission to spark children's imagination while reducing plastic waste, the store offers carefully curated toys designed to make play meaningful again.

Artist Megan Ward Takes Over Swan Hill Studios
Swan Hill Studios presents "This House is Hers," a debut solo exhibition by Shrewsbury-based artist Megan Ward, running from September 11-25 with a preview evening on Thursday, September 11 from 5-8pm.
Megan explores themes of creativity and mental health through contemplative still lifes and portraits from her English Bridge Studios base.
Shropshire's Biggest Beer Festival Returns to the Quarry
Dust off your lederhosen for Shropshire Oktoberfest returning to the Quarry this October 3-4! Since launching in 2017, the festival has doubled in attendance, bringing together local brewers, cidermakers, and producers under massive marquees for quality drinks, street food, and live entertainment.
This year's lineup features acts from Katie Brisbourne & DJ Dan Anderton to Supersonic – The Sound of Oasis, plus silent disco, carpool karaoke, and a best-dressed competition.
New vendors include Bewdley Brewery and Two Farmers crisps, with festival-goers enjoying Oktoberfest-style long tables and the Start Tech VIP area. Friday runs 5pm-10pm, Saturday 12pm-10pm, with tickets available at www.shropshireoktoberfest.co.uk.

Shrewsbury Rally to Beat Barnet
Shrewsbury Town came from behind to claim a 3-1 win at Barnet’s Hive Stadium on Saturday. Barnet opened the scoring in the 14th minute through Mark Shelton, but Shrewsbury quickly equalized via an own goal from Danny Collinge.
Barnet’s Dean Brennan was sent off midway through the first half, and Shrewsbury capitalized. Bradley Ihionvien tapped in a rebound before Sam Clucas curled a brilliant cross into the top corner, sealing the first league win of the season for the visitors.
The victory showcased Shrewsbury’s composure and opportunism in front of just over 3,000 fans, leaving Barnet to regroup after a frustrating home defeat.

It’s matchday for Shrewsbury Town Women as they take on Port Vale at the Community Pitch, Oteley Road, with a 2pm kickoff today.
